DIY Stuff: Laser Scanning Music

I just found this very Interesting kind of music generating.

the Laser  is scanning the Object and the Data is transformed to audible frequencies.

I know the Roland D-Beam or the KOMA  Kommander infra red principle, so this is not completely new, but a Laserscanner with a controllable rotating mount is a really great Idea.
